Growing up in the Mission District, attending the University of Southern California on a full scholarship, and earning a bachelor’s degree in the music industry and business administration, Martin Encinas Leon was a young man who was going places — which, as it turned out, was back to San Francisco.
But he didn’t return until he had worked coast to coast with Apple, then Google, mastering technology and building his business acumen. Those pursuits led him home to a new career, as did the memory of a conversation years before when he asked his parents why they hadn’t invested in real estate when they came from Mexico. They said they didn’t know the business or anyone in it. Martin realized he didn’t either, and he resolved to become that resource.
Martin spends most of his spare time volunteering with the SMART program, the Latino Community Foundation, and Dev/Mission. In his spare time, he likes to work out, travel, try new foods, discover new music, listen to podcasts, and learn about successful entrepreneurs.
